Michelle has been part of Leed Insulation & Spray Foam since the beginning and is proud to serve as the company’s owner. Over the years, she has worked in many areas of the business, including every position at Leed Fireproofing & Insulation from 2004 to 2009, helping build the strong foundation Leed stands on today. Michelle’s favorite part of her job is the relationships she’s built over the years and the opportunity to help people save money while building their dreams. She loves the family atmosphere at Leed and values the way the team works together and supports one another. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, grandkids, and fur babies, as well as “glamping in the fifth wheel.” Her advice to anyone considering this field is that “insulation is not a dead-end job, but a rewarding career that can build relationships and take you higher than you ever expected.”
Phillip came on board the Leed Insulation & Spray Foam team as an Estimator in 2022. Before joining Leed, he built an impressive 40-year career in the insulation, fireproofing, and waterproofing industry. Phillip’s favorite part of his job is anticipating his next task, and he enjoys being part of the continued growth of his home state of Florida through his work in the industry. He values the communication and camaraderie he shares with his teammates each day. Outside of work, Phillip enjoys golfing, playing tennis, and taking his sports car out for a spirited drive where he can “drive it like he stole it.”
Ed and his wife, Michelle, founded Leed Insulation and Spray Foam in 1989 and continue to build it with a strong family- and community-focused approach. Ed’s background is diverse, with formal training in graphic arts and commercial printing, experience in small newspaper production, and early hands-on insulation work dating back to high school. He also owned a landscaping and firewood business before returning to the insulation industry and launching Leed.
What Ed enjoys most about his work comes down to people and challenges. He values staying current with new trends and technologies and sharing his knowledge and experience with others. He finds joy in helping customers save money while reaching their goals. For him, business is personal, and many customers and vendors become lasting friends. As for his team? He loves being a part of their lives and feels blessed to be surrounded by a wealth of wonderful people.
Outside of work, Ed enjoys spending time with his wife and family, traveling, visiting friends, listening to music, biking, scuba diving, and learning new things. He is a self-proclaimed “technoholic” who you will often find working on computers and computer programming. His advice to anyone considering a career in the trades? “A college education is not needed to earn a good living and build a good life for yourself and your family. You can get out of it what you put in. Working with your hands and exercising your mind is as rewarding as any other occupation.”
Mel has been part of the Leed Insulation & Spray Foam team for over two decades and serves as Production Manager. Before joining Leed, he worked for another local insulation company, building a strong foundation in the industry that has helped shape his long career. Mel’s favorite part of his job is working with others and seeing a job done correctly from start to finish. He especially values hearing from customers when they call to say the team did a good job. For Mel, one of the most rewarding parts of working with his teammates is watching them grow. Outside of work, he enjoys catching up on sleep. His advice for anyone considering a career in the trades or insulation is straightforward: “If you like to work hard, do a good job, and make good money, this is the job for you.”
